Adıyaman İndere Earthquake Housing is a development built under the permanent housing programme that followed the earthquake. On this project Devpan produced the switchboard family as a single, repeatable type design, with seismic resistance, rapid commissioning and long-term operation as the governing priorities.

About the Project
Disaster housing projects work under two particular constraints. The first is the programme: the dwellings have to be handed over in the shortest possible time, which means manufacturing and commissioning must be simplified from the outset. The second is the seismic risk of the region; the electrical infrastructure is expected to keep working after a tremor.
At Adıyaman İndere the switchboard family is built on those two constraints. The enclosure and the internal layout are designed to limit the movement of components during a tremor, with anchorage details and support points planned specifically for it. A single type configuration allows manufacturing to be serialised and shortens commissioning on site. Over the long term, one maintenance procedure and a simple spare part list keep operation straightforward.
Devpan Scope and Switchboard Architecture
The Devpan scope covers a complete distribution set reaching from main distribution to the block metering panels. The whole development is equipped to a single switchboard standard.
- Main distribution boards (DevPanel): 2,500 A class, 65 kA / 1 s, main distribution with reinforced anchorage and support details.
- Block sub-distribution and metering panels (DevBox): A single type configuration with standard labelling.
- Power factor correction (DevComp): Automatic stepped compensation with detuned reactors.
- Lighting and power panels (DevPower): Common area, roadway and emergency lighting circuits.
- Commissioning package: Accelerated site acceptance using one common checklist and test reports in a single format.

Project-Specific Engineering Topics
Seismic layout and anchorage detail
Enclosure anchorage, support points and the fixing of internal components are planned to carry seismic loads; heavy equipment is placed in the lower part of the enclosure so that the centre of gravity is lowered.
Functionality after a tremor
Securing terminations against loosening, allowing slack for cable movement and selecting the door latching system all aim at keeping the board operational after a tremor.
Serial manufacture and short delivery
A single type configuration allows materials to be procured in bulk and manufacturing to be serialised, which shortens the delivery time that governs disaster housing projects.
Long-term operation
A simple component list and standard labelling ease maintenance through an operating life measured in years, and secure the availability of spare parts.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does switchboard design differ in a seismic region?
It differs in three respects: enclosure anchorage and support details are reinforced for seismic loads, heavy components are placed low in the enclosure to lower the centre of gravity, and terminations are secured against loosening. The aim is for the board to keep operating safely after a tremor.
How is delivery time shortened on disaster housing projects?
Through a single type configuration. When every block is derived from the same board design, materials are procured in bulk, manufacturing is serialised and site commissioning runs from one checklist. Together these three shorten delivery time appreciably.
What is the installed power at Adıyaman İndere?
A residential development of this scale has an installed power of approximately 3,200 kVA, with a typical transformer configuration of 2 x 1,600 kVA. The main busbar is rated at 2 x 2,500 A with a short-time withstand current of 65 kA / 1 s.
