Quality Approach

Devpan’s quality approach treats quality not as an inspection step at the end of production, but as a process that runs through every step from quotation to shipment, with defined acceptance criteria. The quality of a switchboard is measured not by the brands on it, but by its calculations, by verification tests under IEC 61439 (TS EN 61439) and by records kept within the ISO 9001 framework.

Quality Policy

Quality means being verifiable

The performance of an electrical switchboard cannot be judged by eye. Properties such as short-circuit withstand, temperature rise, internal separation and degree of protection can only be demonstrated through calculation and testing. That is why our quality approach is built on one principle: “record what we measure, share what we record.”Every project is evaluated against the technical specification at the quotation stage, and it is made clear from the outset how each clause of each standard will be met. Checkpoints are never skipped during production, and no completed switchboard is shipped before passing routine tests.

Whose job is quality?

Quality is not the job of a separate department; it is everyone’s job, from the design desk to the assembly line. Our quality team’s role is less about inspection and more about keeping acceptance criteria clear and ensuring records are complete.
Foundations

The three foundations of quality

01

Design Verification

The switchboard design is verified by assessing the electrical calculations and the requirements of the standard together.
  • Short-circuit and selectivity calculations
  • Temperature rise and power loss assessment
  • Busbar sizing and clearance checks
  • Selection of form of separation and degree of protection
02

Production Control

Defined checkpoints are applied at every stage, from incoming materials to final assembly.
  • Incoming material inspection and certificate tracking
  • In-process checks for sheet metal work, painting and assembly
  • Busbar fabrication and tightening torque verification
  • Wiring, labeling and numbering
03

Testing and Certification

Verification is carried out together with accredited laboratory reports and factory routine tests.
  • Design verification based on type test reports
  • Routine tests: insulation, continuity, function
  • CE declaration of conformity and technical file
  • Project-specific test report delivery
04

Documentation and Traceability

Quality is lasting to the extent that it can be traced back after delivery.
  • Project technical file and revision tracking
  • Archive of material and component certificates
  • Retention of routine test reports
  • Filing of commissioning and site records
Process

Quality checkpoints

From the moment it enters the production line until shipment, a switchboard passes through five main checkpoints. If a nonconformity is found at any point, the process does not move forward.
  1. Incoming inspection. Incoming sheet metal, busbars, circuit breakers, contactors and auxiliary materials are checked against the order and specification; manufacturer documents are filed.
  2. In-process inspection. Enclosure fabrication, paint thickness, internal separation parts and busbar assembly are verified against the project drawings.
  3. Assembly and wiring inspection. Cross-sections, terminal tightness, cable routing, labeling and earthing continuity connections are checked.
  4. Routine test. Insulation resistance, dielectric strength, continuity of protective circuits and control functions are tested and reported.
  5. Final inspection and shipment approval. Labels, documentation, accessory list and packaging are checked; no switchboard is shipped without quality approval.
Standards

Reference standards and certificates

We use national and international standards as references when designing and verifying our products. The current versions of our certificates are gathered on a single page.
  • Process management within the ISO 9001 quality management system
  • IEC 61439-1 and IEC 61439-2 (TS EN 61439) for low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies
  • IEC 62271-200 for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear
  • IEC 60529 (TS EN 60529) for enclosure degrees of protection (IP codes)
  • Type test reports obtained at an accredited laboratory
  • CE declaration of conformity, seismic qualification and GOST certificates

Improvement

How does continuous improvement work?

A quality system is not built to find mistakes but to prevent the same mistake from happening again. Our feedback loop, grouped under four headings, updates our checklists and design rules.

Customer feedback

Feedback from commissioning and the field is recorded, and recurring requests are turned into design standards.

Nonconformity management

Every nonconformity is examined through root cause analysis; an owner and deadline are set for the corrective action.

Supplier evaluation

Material conformity, delivery performance and completeness of documents are evaluated regularly.

Training and competence

Competence is tracked for assembly, wiring and test staff; changes in standards are passed on through training.

At the quotation stage, we share in writing how each standard will be met and which tests and documents will be delivered. Just send us your specification.Contact us
An untested design is an assumption; an unrecorded test might as well never have been done.

Summary

  • Our quality policy: To manufacture every switchboard calculated, verified to standards and fully documented.
  • Management system: We run our processes within the ISO 9001 quality management system.
  • Reference standards: IEC 61439-1/-2 for low voltage, IEC 62271-200 for medium voltage, IEC 60529 for degrees of protection.
  • Verification: The design is verified by type test reports, and production by routine tests applied to every switchboard.
  • Traceability: Material, test and revision records are kept in the project file.
  • Our yardstick: Records, not claims; every statement is backed by a report or a calculation.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Quality Approach

Which documents support your quality approach?

Our quality management system is run within the ISO 9001 framework. On the product side, we hold type test reports, CE conformity documents, seismic qualification and GOST certificates. You can view all certificates on the Certificates page.

Which standards are your switchboards manufactured to?

Low voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies are based on IEC 61439-1 and IEC 61439-2 (TS EN 61439). Medium voltage switchgear is based on IEC 62271-200. Degrees of protection are defined under IEC 60529 (IP).

What is the difference between a type test and a routine test?

A type test verifies a switchboard design once at an accredited laboratory; it covers topics such as short-circuit withstand, temperature rise and arc protection. A routine test is the verification applied to every switchboard produced, including wiring, insulation and function checks.

Which quality records are delivered with a project?

The handover file contains the single-line diagram, layout and wiring drawings, bill of materials, routine test report, certificates of the components used and commissioning notes.

How do you proceed when a nonconformity occurs?

The nonconformity is recorded, its root cause is investigated and a corrective action is defined. The relevant checklist or design rule is updated to prevent the same mistake from recurring.
