Social Responsibility

Devpan’s social responsibility approach has three circles: creating safe, quality jobs; giving newcomers to the profession the chance to learn in the field; and sharing sound engineering knowledge. Instead of one-off promotional projects, we prefer work that can be repeated every year, whose results can be measured and that starts with our own team.

Our Approach

Responsibility starts closest to home

The most reliable way to measure a company’s responsibility to society is to look at how it treats its own employees. That is why the first circle of our social responsibility is a safe production environment, wages and entitlements paid on time and in full, a non-discriminatory hiring process and a working culture that is open to learning.

The second circle is our profession. Switchboard manufacturing is a field where mistakes directly affect the safety of people and property. Spreading accurate knowledge in the industry is not just a competitive advantage; it creates a public benefit. That is why we choose to share what we know rather than keep it to ourselves.

The third circle is our local community. We open our workshop to vocational students, offer hands-on experience through internships and on-the-job training, and give priority to candidates from our region for open positions.

What we don’t do

We do not count activities that cannot be measured, lack continuity or are carried out only for visibility as social responsibility. If we think a contribution is not sustainable, we would rather not start it than announce it.

Areas of Responsibility

Four areas of responsibility

Our Employees

A safe work environment, fair working conditions, non-discriminatory hiring and continuous professional development.

Education and Young Engineers

Internship programs, cooperation with universities and vocational schools, and training young technical staff in the field.

Environment and Resources

Separate waste collection, recycling, monitoring of energy consumption and reducing waste.

Business Ethics and Transparency

A zero-tolerance approach to bribery, realistic commitments, confidentiality and competition based on technical competence.

Contribution to Education

Investing in the future of the profession

01

Internship Programs

We aim for a program in which an internship is not limited to observation and the student takes responsibility for a real project step.

  • Open to engineering and technical high school students
  • Assignments in project design, production or testing
  • Working alongside a technical mentor
  • Feedback meeting at the end of the internship
02

Cooperation with Schools and Professional Chambers

We are open to technical cooperation with universities, vocational colleges and professional chambers.

  • Technical tours and plant visits
  • Hands-on seminars and presentations
  • Technical advice for graduation projects
  • Post-graduation employment opportunities
03

Open Technical Knowledge

We make publicly available the calculation and selection notes we prepare on the topics where the most mistakes are made in the field.

  • Current-carrying capacities of copper busbars
  • Cable current-carrying capacity tables
  • Forms of separation and IP protection ratings
  • Current transformer selection and setting notes
04

Professional Development

Developing our own team comes before any external training activity.

  • Passing on changes in standards to the team
  • Tracking assembly and testing competencies
  • Internal knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Learning alongside a colleague when changing roles
Business Ethics

Our business principles

Ethical principles matter not when they are easy to apply but when they are costly. The points below are non-negotiable for us.

  • We have zero tolerance for bribery, kickbacks and improper payments
  • We compete on technical competence, not by undercutting prices
  • We keep data on customer projects and supplier information confidential
  • We never put a deadline or technical commitment we cannot meet into our quotation
  • We do not discriminate in hiring on the basis of gender, belief, ethnic origin or similar grounds
  • We pay employee wages and entitlements on time and in full
  • We prefer to report and correct a mistake rather than hide it

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Social Responsibility

What is the priority of your social responsibility approach?

Our priority is our own team and our professional field. Providing fair and safe working conditions and helping young engineers and technical staff develop come before any external project.

Do you offer internships to students?

We consider internship applications from electrical and electrical-electronics engineering students and technical high school students. It matters to us that an internship is not limited to observation and that the student takes responsibility for a real project step. Applications can be sent via the Human Resources page.

Why do you consider sharing technical knowledge a social responsibility?

In the switchboard industry, wrong selections and incomplete calculations directly create safety problems. Making accurate information free and accessible benefits the whole industry. That is why we openly publish our calculation tables and engineering notes in the Technical Information section.

Do you have business ethics principles?

Yes. We have zero tolerance for bribery and improper payments, we compete on technical competence, we keep customer and supplier information confidential, and our quotations never include a commitment we cannot meet.

How can I submit a cooperation or support request?

We consider cooperation requests from universities, vocational schools, professional chambers and non-governmental organizations. You can send your request, stating its scope and the expected contribution, through the channels on our Contact page.
