About the Project

About the Project

In a diplomatic mission, the electrical system has to keep far more than office loads running: CCTV, access control, communication rooms and IT infrastructure all need an uninterrupted supply. Tashkent’s hot, dry summers push up the cooling load, while voltage fluctuations that can occur on the urban 10 kV network put sensitive electronics at risk. The installation must therefore be dependable yet simple to operate for a small facilities team.

For a mission building of this scale, a typical arrangement is a 1,600 A main distribution board fed by a single 1,000 kVA transformer, with automatic changeover to a 500 kVA generator. Security and communication loads sit on a dedicated priority section, while offices, reception areas and service spaces are served by DevBox sub-distribution boards. DevComp correction balances the power factor and DevPower panels handle interior and perimeter lighting.

Scope

Devpan Scope and Switchboard Architecture

Devpan’s scope covers low-voltage distribution from the transformer outgoing way down to floor boards and security system supplies.

  • Main distribution board (DevPanel): 1,600 A, 50 kA / 1 s, Form 2b – Form 3b, with automatic mains–generator changeover.
  • Sub-distribution boards (DevBox): supplies for office floors, visitor areas and plant rooms.
  • Power factor correction (DevComp): automatic reactive compensation for HVAC and office loads.
  • Lighting and power panels (DevPower): interior, perimeter security and emergency lighting circuits.

Engineering

Project-Specific Engineering Topics

Priority security section

CCTV, access control and alarm systems are fed from a separate section, the first group transferred to the generator in an outage.

Communication room supplies

Server and communication rooms receive dedicated, selectively protected feeders for their UPS inputs.

Perimeter lighting

The building perimeter and checkpoints are lit by timer and photocell controlled circuits.

Voltage monitoring

Voltage monitoring relays detect network disturbances and initiate the generator changeover when required.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the installed power for the Dubai Representative Office in Tashkent?

For a mission building of this scale the installed power is approximately 1,000 kVA, with a typical transformer configuration of 1 × 1,000 kVA. The main busbar is rated around 1,600 A on a 10 kV MV supply, with standby power from a 1 × 500 kVA generator.

Why does the generator not carry the entire building load?

The generator is sized for critical loads. Security, communication and emergency lighting are restored first, and comfort loads are added in stages as capacity allows.

Is Form 2b – Form 3b separation sufficient at this scale?

Yes. For a medium-sized building on a single transformer, Form 2b – Form 3b provides adequate protection between busbars and functional units while keeping board dimensions compact.

Do you have a project of a similar scale?

Send us your single-line diagram, your transformer rating or simply your load list. Our engineering team runs the short-circuit and discrimination study and defines the form of separation and busbar cross-section with you.
