Tempo City Suryapı — Residential and Retail Unit Switchboard Project

Tempo City Suryapı is a mixed-use project with a busy retail parade on the ground floors of the residential blocks. On this project Devpan manufactured the main distribution boards and a retail unit supply arrangement that accommodates changes of tenant.

About the Project

About the Project

The most notable characteristic of a ground floor retail parade is that unit boundaries change over time. Two small shops may be merged into one store, or a large unit may be subdivided. The electrical infrastructure has to absorb that change without any intervention in the main distribution.

At Tempo City Suryapı a dedicated supply branch is reserved for the retail parade, and the unit panels on that branch are designed so that outgoing ways can be added later. Each unit is metered separately, and energisation is staged in line with the shop opening programme. The residential blocks are fed independently of the retail parade, so work carried out on the retail side does not affect the residential consumers.

Scope

Devpan Scope and Switchboard Architecture

The Devpan scope reaches from main distribution to the residential block boards and the retail unit panels.

  • Main distribution boards (DevPanel): 2,500 A class, 65 kA / 1 s, main distribution with separate outgoing branches for the residential and retail uses.
  • Retail unit panels (DevBox): Unit-level metering with a compartment layout that accepts additional outgoing ways.
  • Residential block and metering panels: Consumer metering and floor distribution.
  • Power factor correction (DevComp): Detuned compensation matched to the variable load profile of the retail parade.
  • Common area panels (DevPower): Retail parade lighting, car park and emergency lighting circuits.

Project-Specific Engineering Topics

Unit boundaries that change over time

Empty module positions and measurement points are left in the retail unit panels; if two shops are merged or a unit subdivided, the arrangement can be reconfigured without replacing the board.

Staged energisation

Shops do not open at the same time. The energisation sequence is planned around the opening programme and each unit is energised independently, with its own metering.

Separating the residential and retail sides

The two uses are collected on separate branches in the main distribution, so maintenance or fit-out work on the retail side does not affect the supply to residential consumers.

Compensation under variable retail load

Because the occupancy of the retail units varies over time, compensation stages are selected in small steps; over-compensation at low occupancy is avoided.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are retail unit panels designed to be flexible?

Because unit boundaries change over time. Two small shops may be merged or a large unit subdivided. When empty module positions and measurement points are left in the board, that change can be made without replacing the whole board and without touching the main distribution.

Why are the retail parade and the residential blocks fed separately?

For two reasons: fit-out and maintenance work on the retail side must not affect the residential consumers, and the metering and tariff structures of the two uses differ. Separate branches in the main distribution satisfy both requirements at once.

What is the installed power at Tempo City Suryapı?

A mixed-use project of this scale has an installed power of approximately 4,800 kVA, with a typical transformer configuration of 3 x 1,600 kVA. The main busbar is rated at 2 x 2,500 A.
